Antecedents are an important part of Positive Behavior Supports for children with Autism. Understanding the term is part of the fabric of understanding behavior. It is what may make a behavior plan successful or let us design surroundings better. And antecedent is basically what happened before a behavior that caused the behavior. Typically parents are talking about a bad behavior but an antecedent can just as easily be about a good behavior.
